As a child we would always stay in a caravan down on the south coast, not a mobile home you understand but like a proper gipsy caravan. That was back in the days when they still had gas for lighting! Caravans are cool - We'd love to go on a caravan holiday but don't know of any caravan parks, and we don't have our own caravan.
A UK caravan holiday seems like the best bet - in the west country possibly. Would anyone have a Caravan for hire, or perhaps like to do a holiday swap?

You could check http://www.parkdeanholidays.co.uk They have 24 parks all around UK and you can rent caravan there. Some of the places are really beautiful. It is the good choice for family holidays .
