Greetings all,
We're off to Paris for the weekend at Christmas for a classic weekend city break, and never having been there before (yeah - I know..) was wondering which is the best area to stay in - the kids aren't coming btw
Any recommends would be greatly appreciated - we want to go and see some shows and not be in a grotty area.

If you want to stay in a fabulous artistic area that is not too overpriced but not grotty the Bastille area is quite nice, we stayed at a hotel called Villa Beaumarchais, I think is 4 star - very nice and I can recommend
